About Allander Pipers

Allander Pipers came into being in 2016 in Glasgow and is owned by Alan McGeachie a 19-year veteran of the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band and a Glasgow bagpiper, who has been playing bagpipes for over 30 years and has played all over the world in a world famous pipe band as a bagpiper.

Listen to some of our popular wedding tunes

Having played at hundreds of events over the years and all over the world and locally in Glasgow, Alan understands the importance of professionalism, excellence and punctuality, especiallywhen it comes to hiring a piper! Whether it is a corporate event catering for hundreds of guests or a wedding, however big or small no matter where it is to the most emotive of engagements, such as funerals everyone needs to know that you will be there and are reliable.
No matter what the event, it is important to Allander Pipers to provide the finest service possible. It is integral to Allander Pipers that the music can supplement the most important part of any ceremony or celebration because of the emotion it can conjure.

"Alan is a highly professional musician who plays to the highest standard."

Band Involvement

Alan has been playing with the Govan Schools Pipe band since 2019 - aiding in teaching the bagpipes to the schools pipe band. The success of the band has only grown since Alans arrival through winning many awards in the last year.

Alan has played at weddings  all over Great Britain, America, across Europe and obviously Scotland.  He has also played alongside some of the most distinguished players in the pipe band world and has access to pipers all over Scotland and beyond. Alan still maintains close links with the now Glasgow Police Pipe Band, which is an endorsement of the highest standards possible in the piping commnunity.

If your event requires numerous pipers, a mini pipe band or even a full pipe band we can help. If you are looking for a Ceilidh band we can help put you in touch with some of the best musicians in the business!

For a punctual, courteous and outstandingly professional bagpiper - Allander Pipers is the answer.

A really lovely post which Bruce and Jenni loved. Everyone I talked to said what I wonderful job you did, the Pipes just adds that special touch to an event, I thought you were outstanding. Many thanks again.
We booked Alan to pipe at my father in laws funeral last week and we were delighted with the service. Alan took the pain out of this part of organising by dealing directly with the funeral director including times, arrangements and payment.
"Having Alan at our wedding made the event so special and provided beautiful music for our church yard wedding. Despite a 6 month delay due to COVID, Alan was flexible, professional and was relaxed on the day."
It's my third wedding of the year and it's the last week in October! I'm glad to say that I'm back in one of my favourite area's of Scotland, Lochaber! to be precise St John's church, Ballachulish near Glencoe. Autumn is in full glow.
So the strange times continue and this is only my second wedding this year and it’s now the start of September!
We really enjoyed having Allander Pipers play at our wedding! We are not originally from Scotland and it was wonderful to have traditional music playing as we walked out from the ceremony.
