Allander Pipers were delighted to be asked to play at the wedding reception of Amy and Ian at the Fruit Market in the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant Merchant City after they had been married the previous week in the Caribbean!
Alan was asked to play at the entrance to the Fruit Market to welcome the guests into a fabulous champagne reception.
Amy and Ian arrived in style in a white Hackney Carriage wedding car and were played into their reception with a stirring rendition of ‘Mhairi’s Wedding’
Alan played on the mezzanine as guests mingled and chatted. You could tell that the evening was going to turn into one of those unforgettable nights when some of the guests started their own impromptu ceilidh by dancing the Gay Gordons as Alan played ‘Scotland the Brave’ followed by the ‘Rowan Tree’. The reception area was even ‘invaded’ by passers by wanting to know what was going on and were delighted to hear the bagpipes and see some very impressive country dancing.
